Carpooling. You're doing it wrong

According to Whitby GO parking customers and passengers there are three drivers allegedly abusing the carpool privileges of the program. They all have stickers but no passengers with them when they arrive and park in the designated spots -- spots that are close to the entrance to the station.

The first alleged offender is in a dark grey Hyundai sedan. The second drives a light grey Pontiac sedan and the third is piloting a red minivan (make not given) - all solo. The rules of the program only apply to the morning and not the evening, so even if these three drivers give fellow passengers rides home only at night, the program disqualifies them.

Those who have complained has been advised to call Transit Safety and Security (1 877 297 0642). I am positive the situation will be monitored and if it's true, all three drivers should be fined and towed.

Pas cool.

How I felt last night after listening to my GO bus struggle to keep it together

Welp, I guess I better get to writing my obituary then, seeing as I'm the only comic in the family

This obituary, published earlier this month in the Toronto Star, has gone viral.

STOCKS, Mary Patricia (nee Morris) —

Pat Stocks, 94, passed away peacefully at her home in bed July 1, 2015. It is believed it was caused from carrying her oxygen tank up the long flight of stairs to her bedroom that made her heart give out. She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her daughter and sons who have no idea what to do with it. So if you're looking for 2 extremely large TV's from the 90s, a large ceramic stork (we think) umbrella/cane stand, a toaster oven (slightly used) or even a 2001 Oldsmobile with a spoiler (she loved putting the pedal to the metal), with only 71,000 kilometers and 1,000 tools that we aren't sure what they're used for. You should wait the appropriate amount of time and get in touch. Tomorrow would be fine. This is not an ad for a pawn shop, but an obituary for a great Woman, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother born on May 12, 1921 in Toronto, the daughter of the late Pop (Alexander C.) and Granny (Annie Nigh) Morris. She leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that she was very proud of. Pat was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. It was the school of hard knocks and yes we were told many times how she had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school, so suck it up. With that said she was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lion) and yet she sugar coated nothing. Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime. She liked four letter words as much as she loved her rock garden and trust us she LOVED to weed that garden with us as her helpers, when child labour was legal or so we were told. These words of encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes comfort, kept us in line, taught us the "school of hard knocks" and gave us something to pass down to our children. Everyone always knew where you stood with her. She liked you or she didn't, it was black or white. As her children we are still trying to figure out which one it was for us (we know she loved us). She was a master cook in the kitchen. She believed in overcooking everything until it chewed like rubber so you would never get sick because all germs would be nuked. Freezing germs also worked, so by Friday our school sandwiches were hard and chewy, but totally germ free. All four of us learned to use a napkin. You would pretend to cough, spit the food into it and thus was born the Stocks diet. If anyone would like a copy of her homemade gravy, we would suggest you don't. She will be sorely missed and survived by her brother George Morris, children: Shauna (Stocks) Perreault, Paul/Sandy (Debbie) Stocks and Kirk Stocks, son-in-law Ian Milnes and son from another mother, John McCleery, grandchildren: Lesley (Sean), Lindsay (Lucas), Ashley (James), David (Tia), Brett, Erin (Brian), Sean, Alex, Courtney and Taylor and great-grandchildren: Connor, Emily, Ainsley, Tyler and Jack. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul (Moo) Stocks and eldest daughter Shelley (Stocks) Milnes and beloved pets Tag, Tag, Tag and Tag. All whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and caring for them. Please give generously to covenanthousetoronto.ca "in memory". A private family 'Celebration of Life' will be held, in lieu of a service, due to her friends not being able to attend, because they decided to beat her to the Pearly Gates. Please note her change of address to her new place of residence, St John's York Mills Anglican Church, 19 Don Ridge Drive, 12 doors away from Shelley's place.

Empty UP Express trains should be carrying commuters, transit group says

Metrolinx says ridership for the new $456 million Union Pearson Express (UPX) train is right on target, averaging 3,250 passengers a day.

But a transit advocacy group has its doubts.

TTCriders says the trains are running virtually empty — and says that’s all the more reason to turn the airport train into public transit rather than…

Funny, when I'm bored, I most certainly don't play on train tracks

Happy birthday GO bus driver Shan! Wherever you are

Check out the postal code... I know. REPRESENT. Right? And so respectful, too

Seems like something I would do... Thank you #slayer #gotransit #fuckoff

While you were roasting this weekend ...

Apparently on Saturday, a tourist on-board an LSW GO train nearly gave birth on the train. I've been given conflicting reports. I'll see what comes out in the comments and what comes back in email. But that's the story on the rails this morning.

When I met with Transit Safety over a year ago to chat about GO Transit security and seeking understanding about what they do, I had asked Bill Grodzinski, the Director of Safety and Security, if any of his officers had ever delivered a baby. He couldn't recall any incidents of a live birth.

This is a good thing because Lord knows you'd get that one set of parents who'd be all like, "Well, he was delivered around Guildwood, so we decided we'd call him "Guildwood" so he'd be reminded of his legacy."

Oh, and here's a picture of my husband riding a blow-up dolphin in our pool on Sunday. Because heeeeeeeeeat.

Spending my lottery winnings at FreshCo

I hadn't grocery shopped in three weeks. With the kid away at camp, hubby and I scraped meals together with what we had and decided we'd stock up once "le child" had returned.

Plus, I hate grocery shopping so if I can put it off, I will. We were down to a door with full of condiments, and one apple as of Saturday morning. The bottom fridge freezer was full of popsicles and the stand-up freezer in the basement was running to keep one loaf of rye bread frozen. I knew I had to suck it up and venture out to not only Freschco, but the butcher, too.

So this was Saturday:

It was an impressive game of shopping cart Tetris.

Of course, fellow shoppers could not help but comment on the towering food in my cart. One lady asked me, "My word, how many children do you feed?" I said, "None". LOL. Her face... It was just as funny as telling another person I was single. And this was just for a week.

Then, as I was lined up and re-balancing my bags of hamburger buns, this guy asked me if I'd won the LottoMAX.

Really?

If I'd won the lottery, I wouldn't be grocery shopping.

My husband says I should follow up with everyone who has texted me over the past five years

I am dyyyyinnnng.

I'm totally doing this.

This is why I love him.

I guess we'll never know

No. Not during rush hour. Ever.

Let's have some fun with the iPhone, its case and "Dog"

Just letting you all know that someone asked in a comment if the woman got her iPhone back.

That's a great question!

I've sent her a text message.

Let's see what happens.

I can't wait.

Please let it be great.

I need it to be great.

Reading and stretching for the win! This is why I love the TTC subway. So much to see.

Reminds of some of the spelling bee superstars who send me emails. What's in this bin? How do you spell that?

Earplugs?

UPX bells a whole new nuisance along tracks

When the Union Pearson Express launched last month, it came with plenty of bells and whistles, including onboard Wi-Fi, phone charging outlets, even dapper conductors decked out in retro-chic uniforms.

But according to some of the UP Express’s new neighbours, the service is overdoing it with the actual bells.

UP Express trains ring their bells every…

I'm so proud of you guys

You're smart enough to realize how much Internet Explorer sucks.

I just got an email from a person who complained my site doesn't work well in her browser. I asked her what she was using and she said, "Explorer". I told her to download Chrome since I know the site has no issues with Chrome. She refused, claiming Explorer was the "industry standard", and I should comply.

I don't "work" for the 5%!
