A sobering read

Scott Simpson is a talk show host in Halifax and runs the website BigAssSuperstar. I've known Scott for 20 years.
Recently, he and his wife Amanda had a beautiful baby boy named Gordon. I follow Amanda on Facebook but had no idea of what had happened during her delivery.
Scott blogged about the birth and the scary discovery.
The news was shocking and heartbreaking and I am praying for them. I need everyone to pray for them.
I also think their story should be shared -  She went in to have our baby and came out with a cancer diagnosis - so positive vibes can be sent their way.

I read this yesterday. So wonderful with the new baby but so heartbreaking too. I wish them all the best.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm blown over by the amount of positivity and compassion we've received from you and so many others on the net. Sometimes blogging and tweeting can feel like muttering under your breath during a thunderstorm, but once in a while you get an answer back from the sky that shows people are listening. Thank you.

I was deeply saddened by this story. It illustrates how insidious cancer is. Cancer took Howie in January; visceral hemangiosarcoma took our Golden Retriever a month ago. My wife and daughter fly south to be with family this weekend. Our 28-year-old niece, who just earned her PhD degree, fought an aggressive form of breast cancer three years ago, defeated it, but was re-diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer three weeks ago. I hope Amanda wins her battle.

I hope Amanda beats the shit out of cancer, Scott!
