Please tell me they were together?

Based on my experience: no.

Last week, I actually got up and stood for the rest of my bus ride because some man decided to keep expanding. And I just don't do that. Especially once his ass touched mine. Ick.

This has actually happened to me. When I sternly asked the guy who had decided it was OK to literally encase my legs between his (and no, I didn't know him) to stop, he just chuckled to the person (a female) that he was chatting to and ignored me.

How can any man do this?

Sadly I've witnessed this on several occasions. But I've never seen a guy do it to another guy; it always seems to be to women. It doesn't seem to be intentional (at least, it has never appeared so to me), so maybe it's some sort of subconscious need to establish dominance or something.

So I was a first-time man spreading victim last night. Or at least it was the first time I noticed. He kept to his side of the quad, but just had his legs wide open...at the perimeters of his space is the quad. It was wierd. He clearly wasn't doing it in a suggestive manner...was doing it before I arrived, and after I left.

Strange

@ Skin man:

That happens all the time. ALL the time. I just want to tell them all that they are not hung like a horse and they have the ability to keep their legs closer together.

No comment on how the seats are too close together?

Like ...who designs the interior of these passenger coaches anyway?
Society is but one big "Butt-in-your-face" dilemma. NO WONDER we need such tight-ass "sex offender" laws to ward off potential temptations in the events of "desirable" individuals sitting right next to you.

@Tal

This is especially true on some of the older train coaches, where certain quads are really close together and it's nearly impossible to sit without interleaving your legs with the person across from you. Really awkward.

While i do agree that this guy's actions are inappropriate and unwelcome, i do also agree with an earlier poster that the design of the older carriage & spacing between seats is insufficient. I'm relatively tall (6'1) and could not physically sit facing a man of the same height for the lack of knee/leg space.
