Battle of the Door Donkeys

I love stories like these. They warm my heart and make we want to pick roses from my garden and braid them into my hair.

Joanne writes:
Yesterday I took the 453 lse, first car, the train was 70% full but there was this group of female door donkeys standing right in front of the doorway, ignoring people trying to get on. So I step up onto the train, into this wall of donkeys, and just stand there because this shit gets old real quick and these asshats are really starting to piss me off. It's like this every damn day...
With a poker face, I just stand there. Finally donkey door bitch #1 moves over and as I head up the stairs, I hear her call out, "Excuse me would be nice" - something to this affect. If there wasn't a line of people behind me I would have called her out on it.
So here's my message to the donkeys. I shouldn't have to excuse myself to you. You should excuse your own damn self and move the hell outta the way for those boarding. If people boarding the train inconvenience you and interrupt your epic conversation about changing the filter of the Brita bucket for your office kitchen, perhaps the bunch of you should stand on the platform and then get on the train before it leaves. Then you can all gather around the doors like roaches slurping up a puddle of water under a kitchen sink.
Thanks.

Thank you.
When I see them again, I'm having a few words.
Asses, I tell you.

Why do I get the feeling the donkeys are the working at the most boring, low man on the totem pole jobs but all the while have this totally self-important opinion of themselves?

good job. I may need your help on LSW Bronte, these bunch of whining hags and one guy are in the same spot every single day blocking the bottom of the stairs and the door. But they look as tho they are leaving so no one questions them until the doors open at Bronte and they all stand there like morons chatting still and then its a panick to push them out the way to get off!!! They are waiting for Appleby I imagine (next one) and most likely are the losers who 'run' to their vehicles.
But seriously... get the F*&$ out of the way or next time I'll elbow you warty face, or knock your 80's glasses to the ground.

I don't like to sit so I stand. You can't stand in the aisles. And standing on the platform won't work because there is no where to stand. And sometimes it's other people standing that force some of us into the doorway. You really think Joanne that those of us fit enough to stand plot out a way to piss you off? And yes, you should say excuse me. Am I psychic. Maybe you want to stand there. Plus when you pull shit like staring people down, that's just obnoxious. PS. There are other cars you can go to so why not walk your fat ass further down the train and get some exercise and stop thinking the world owes you something. I'm not justifying any more comments with a response because it appears everyone just jumps to conclusions on this website anyway. Someone wrote that this is a form of bullying and I agree. Singling people out is rude and childish. I don't owe you an explanation for why I choose to stand and I'm not moving to the aisle because I don't want people pushing around me to sit. Thanks.

Oh and another thing. CJ, this blog was fun until you allowed it to become personal. There are many of us who feel you've allowed others to decide the direction of your content and we've decided to stick with the shoutouts from now on. Good luck with the site. Too bad you let assholes ruin it for you.

lswgirl13 said...

Mmmmmmmmm, I may fall into that asshole category, meh, who cares. ANYWAYS, Amy, are you the shout out one who bitched about her irresponsible kids losing their ipods OR perhaps you are the one sleeping with her cousin OR perhaps you are the one that lost your umbrella???

DoorDonkeyHater said...

WOW AMY!!!
Bullying?? Making it personal?? Have you read what you wrote about Joanne? If that isn't personal I don't know what is.

Good thing you and your "possy" will stick to the shout outs from now on, maybe you can find a "Corridor Club" friend and get some of that frustration out ;)

It's good that you like to stand, but really? Do you have to block the DOORS? I don't know how many times I had to literally push people out of the way to get on the train because they won't move...and I am suppose to say "Excuse me"? I once caught the train just as the doors were closing and ended up standing by the doors since I couln't get any further because of a Door Donkey and guess what? The woman I had to push out of the way to get on the train taps me on the shoulder and tells me that I am standing in HER spot and that she was there before me...... WTF?!? First you block the doors and after I manage to get on you tell me that I "stole" your spot?? In disbelief, I scanned the area for a good 30 seconds only to tell the woman that I didn't any name or "standing room" assignment anywhere so I will just stay where I am - if you feel entitled, guess what; I can too!!

When the train is boarding (the doors are open) clear a path for rest of the people to be able to get on. When approaching a station, get out of the way of people who need to exit at that station. What ever happened to common sense? Did it morph into some new genetic freak called sense of entitlement?

Oh Amy,
Girl, you haven't even left.
Why do you lie?
Don't you know this is the internet and I have logging software and I can tell by this software (SiteMeter) that you are still connected to this website? Have been connected for the 189 minutes and that you will be back and you will read every comment.
Admit it. You're addicted.
I can't please everybody and that's not even my mandate.
Readership is voluntary. I don't force the activity you see here.
I'm sorry you feel repulsed by us common folk who still have to push past you regardless of where you stand.
How about you try riding on the outside of the train, on those little ladders. Is that "first" enough for you?

Joanne said...

Bite me, Amy.
I can run circles round you.
You/me. Tonight. Platform 12/13. 4:45 pm. Bring your mom.

lswgirl13 said...

But then she'd get nasty bugs caught in her teeth.

lswgirl13 said...

Joanne, could you please wait until your platform is announced on the board first???

FRED said...

Oh snap. You can tell I'm actually on your site!? Like all day? I never close it. I am addicted to refreshing.

Joanne said...

I can't wait for it to be called because all the people already on the platform get a seat and I won't. It becomes more challenging at that hour.
Not to make excuses. Gah, now I sound like one of "them"!

Fred,
It's not that savvy but I can tie an outclick (comment) usually to an entry and then try to guess that the IP I see is tied to the user making the comment. It's not incredibly sophisticated because of privacy laws but it does require me to be on the log file the same time as the person so I can make the co-relation.

you guys are messed up.

Shirker said...

@Anonymous - I know which group you're talking about. Warts and 80's glasses - too funny!

@Amy - You don't want to stand in the aisle because you don't want people pushing around you to get a seat but you like standing in the entry way so people have to push around you just to board? OK then. You seem fun.

Peter said...

Amy,
I hope to God you don't have children.

lswgirl13 said...

I'm sure you could find a seat if you'd "walk your fat ass further down the train" ;-)

Amy said...

Dear CJ,
I used to be a fan but I'm done.
See ya later shitheads.

re: Amy. Good riddance.
re: my fat ass and walking down to another coach.

I don't want to give the door donkeys the upper hand.

I'll try it tonight. After I white glove slap Amy.

Tim K. said...

LOL @ Bring your mom.
This site gets more and more hilarious everyday now that the door donkeys are on the prowl to protect their territory.

@Joanne
You need to grow up. The way you handled yourself was like you set all us back to high school. Threatening to beat someone up isn't very mature. I've lost all respect for you and if I ever come across you I'll be sure to trip you as you make your way up the stairs.

The rest of you need to go back to your cars. GO is who you should be picking on. They need to address the over-crowding problem and run more trains.

Tim K. said...

Tanya,
What are you talking about. There is photographic evidence on this very website of door donkeys boarding an empty train and standing in the doorway and remain there for the duration of the boarding period. This is well before the platform is called. There's no congestion but guess what, my dear, it is the Door Donkeys who start the congestion. You *are* the problem.
Not GO Transit.

Tanya said...

Well those are different door donkeys. It's not us.

Bicky said...

I need to come up with a drawing of an asshat. My mission for the weekend. :o)

Don't tell my boss I'm on this site during the day...shhh!

lswgirl13 said...

Ahhhh, I love a good catfight, my money is on Joanne!
I have no doubt that GO Transit needs to add more trains but you know who ends up paying for that.
The door donkeys, the feet donkeys etc. are nothing more than bullies, they simply can't play by the rules and try to intimidate those who won't play by theirs.

Svej said...

Evidently some people need to have a beer and get laid. Take it easy and if you don't like the blog content, stop reading.

No I take that back, sorry, the angry comments are half the fun. Haha, I don't even take the GO regularly anymore (moved) yet I just keep coming back ...

I used to take the Georgetown train to Malton station, and had to get up as soon as the train left the station prior to Malton so I could weave my way through the people lining up to get off at Bramalea, all the while saying "Excuse me, I'm getting off at Malton. Excuse me, I'm getting off at the next stop. Are you getting off at Malton?" and so on, until I was finally at the front of the door. And even then, a few times I almost didn't make it off the train in time because someone would ignore my request to get by.

DF said...

Ive bitched at many of the door donkeys and they dont care. I stand on the step and make them move and when the do I've said on numerous occasions "do you have to stand right in the middle and block the doorways"?
it doesnt do any good. they are too self righteous and think what they are doing is completely fine.

Oh and Amy, see you in the Shout Outs!!

PS what annoys me even more is all these door donkeys go all the way to Oshawa! so they stand there and have to move out of the way for all the prior stops!

Night Nurse saying good night said...

we should think of a line to say to the door donkeys so that the protest against regular door donkeys becomes a movement on he GOOOOOOOO,,,

"Hi how are you" very loudly, "I see you are doing the door donkey again today"
