And Metrolinx can't seem to get Burlington GO station finished ... it's been nearly 2 years

Chinese construction company erects 57-story skyscraper in 19 days

CHANGSHA, China -- A Chinese construction company is claiming to be the world's fastest builder after erecting a 57-story skyscraper in 19 working days in central China.

The Broad Sustainable Building Co. put up the rectangular, glass-and-steel Mini Sky City in the Hunan provincial capital of Changsha using a modular method, assembling three floors per day, company vice-president Xiao Changgeng said.

The company, which has ambitions to assemble the world's tallest skyscraper at 220 floors in only three months, worked on Mini Sky City in two spurts separated by winter weather. Its time-lapse video of the rapid assembly has become popular on Chinese video-sharing sites since it was first uploaded on YouTube.

Actually, it's been more than two years for Burlington GO station. Buses were moved from the South bus loop to the North bus loop commencing Dec. 2, 2012 to allow the construction work to begin.

I can't remember the year that they started work on the Brampton Station South platform but a sign went up saying Railway Street would reduce to one lane until April. I think the sign went up in November. April came and went, twice, and Railway Street was still closed. Everyone assumed they meant next April but Metrolinx never specified which year. I think it opened in the February before the third April. So Burlingtonians, what are you bitching about; there still is plenty of time to go.

Yes, but is it habitable?
What is the quality of the workmanship?
Was the work done by skilled and knowledgeable professionals?

Yes, but how long will it STAND?

I am almost 100% sure that all four workmen who showed up every second Thursday were professional and knowledgeable. I am sure that the job would have been finished sooner if the had more employees and if they worked more often, but what do I know.

I was referring to the 57-story skyscraper in China when I made my comments.
