I'm on the GT 7:38 (Bramalea to Union). As with every day, there is a woman who gets on the train at Bramalea with a cellphone wedged between her ear and her shoulder. If every other day is a predictor, she will continue to speak on the phone the entire way to union. This happens every day. I'm not kidding.
I would love to know what she is talking about, but she's not speaking English.
To make matters worse, I already had to change where I sat on this train because of a make-up/face cream/body groomer who also spent the entire ride in talking to a friend of hers who was also on the same train.
Where are these fabled "quiet cars"?

If and when these quiet cars come into play, they will be standing room only. I guarantee it.
I still say a few noisey cars with all others as quiet cars is the way to go!
Then there will be someone noisy who gets on, and insists it's his/her right to do whatever they want on the train, as the "quite car" is only a "guideline". Or that they pay good money to ride the train and should be entitled to do whatever they want.
I look forward to reading those stories on here in the future. :)
Headphones do wonders.....even if they're not plugged in to anything
I thought I was the only one who is bothered by all the chatter on GO trains. To know that others share my grief is of some comfort...
Please GO Transit, implement this quiet car idea soon!
Don't get your hopes up guys. I was recently on the trains in England. The "quiet" cars weren't. A conductor walks through to check tickets nearly every trip but says nothing. The only rule Go enforces is having a valid ticket. Once they have their money they don't give a rat's tail about your comfort.
I've been saying the same thing since I started taking the GO train!! Glad to see others think the same. We need a "Quiet" car. It could alternate between standard car where people want to chat, use phone etc. car and a quiet car for probably 95% of the rest.
As for headphones/music, this defeats the purpose of having a quiet ride..I already use headphones to shut out loud people, and all I get is more noise to cancel other noise. All most people want is a quiet peaceful ride home after a tiring day at work. *sigh*
