Those who seriously need a bag beat down

I fully admit I am obsessed with people using common courtesy when they park only because space is limited at the GO lots and everyone fairly deserves a place to park. We're all doing our part to minimize how much driving we do, cutting down on emissions and reducing gridlock, so I expect others to be mindful of parking properly and as accurately as they can.

In fact, in my opinion, you owe it to me to not park like an a-hole. But people still do it. When it snows and all the lines are covered up, people clearly have trouble with parking. I don't understand why. If one driver parks at the end of a row and another driver parks beside that car, why the hell do you have to go to the middle of the row where you can't see the guidelines and "park how you want to", thereby upsetting the calculation of space required for parking? For the stupid, this means where 16 cars could fit between the two at the end and the a-hole in the middle, only eight people managed to park there because the remaining eight decided that two parking spots must be the norm in winter weather.

But it gets worse. Days after it snows and the half-ass plowing and salting has been done, and the guidelines become somewhat visible, people still continue to park like a-holes. Let me tell you something, the rules for parking are the same in winter as they are in spring, summer and fall. You do your best to fit your vehicle into a space, even checking to see where you are on the pavement. Park and run just doesn't cut it. It's the only explanation for why the donkeys below parked like this because I can see the lines.

Let me make it even simpler. If you can open your driver-side/passenger-side door the whole way and stand between the fully extended door and the vehicle next to you, you've parked like an a-hole.

Looks like you had every opportunity write ASSHOLE in the snow on the back window of the pontiac.

You so disappoint me. Have you not learned anything so far?!!

Now I wish I had taken a picture of the guy who decided to drive up, over the curb and park on the paved area right beside the doors (ie. not the parking lot at all) of the south Whitby lot. That one was so incredibly bold, I had to laugh.

if go transit doesnt clear the lanes and people cant see the lines, how can we bitch about it once the lines clear and call those people aholes??
the truck may be a bit far from the other car, but all parking spots are different, some are very slim and some are generous. i doubt the person chose to take up two spots.
who knows the placement of the cars, the other ones could have parked after this SUV.
people are so misserable and quick to fling hate at others, why not chill the F out. its not the worst thing in the world.

I have to disagree. I've watched people, people who are usually late (the park and runs) who do take up two spots. The worst culprits are those late for the Oshawa 7:21 who just park and bolt - which leaves us 7:53 shmucks SOL.

Most of the spots at the Oshawa GO lot are the same size, row after row.

If you read my post again, you will read where I covered your question. Surprisingly, none of this behaviour happens in the warmer months. People take advantage of the poor weather.

Secondly, drivers shouldn't need guidelines in order to park a car properly. If you can't figure out what a courteous space is between your vehicle and the one next to you, you shouldn't be driving.

That truck is obviously parked on top of the line that should be to its left...."a bit far from the other car" sheesh

That was my point, too.

Perhaps a diagram or how-to graphic is in order. CJ?

I TAKE THE BUS BUT I CAN IMAGINE HOW FRUSTRATING IT MUST BE TO SEE AVAILABLE SPACES, SLOPPY PARKING AND SPOTS WERE ONLY A BICYCLE COULD FIT WHEN YOU NEED TO PARK IN ORDER TO CATCH THE TRAIN. WHERE ELSE CAN PEOPLE PARK AT OSHAWA? IT HAS TO BE FAIR TO EVERYONE.

jamie, i imagine snow was covering the spot when the suv parked there..
i didn't realize people do it intentionally... then in that case they ARE a holes.
sorry. i meant spots in different places, such as the bank vs the go station, not all the spots at the stations, they should be the same.
