It's been a while. Hello Parking Donkey!

When Doug emailed this photo and I saw it, I immediately panicked because the vehicle on the left looks like my vehicle and the lot looks like Oshawa, and I was like, the hell? There's no way I'm a Parking Donkey. I don't park crooked.

Upon closer inspection, I realize it's not mine because the dealer sticker reminding me of my next oil change isn't in the window. Jesus. Awkward ...

Doug wrote that he's thin enough to get into his car, shown on the right. I'd be crawling through the trunk.

No offence but it looks like both vehicles aren't parked evenly in space.

Having taken photos of parking donkeys I will tell you it's hard to capture the perspective as it's different when you're standing there, looking at your driver door and calculating the space between it and the vehicle next to you.

If you look at the side mirrors, you can get a better idea of how close the vehicles are. Car doors are about 9 inches deep due to metal, padding, insulation, wiring, window assembly mechanisms and the interior pull handle. Your body has to try to get between all that and the frame. Now you should be able to see how this was a tight fit.

I agree. I think both cars are fine. neither is on or too close to the yellow line.

ok the silver vehicle is a bit close, but I still wouldnt consider that a Donkey Parking job.

They look fine to me. If anything, they both look like they are slightly angled.
I "donkeyed" on the yellow line this morning but I went in between 2 cars that were already there, one car being the end spot so it's all good!

I don't see anything wrong either, but my question would be how did the second driver get out in the first place?

maybe the person trying to get in the car is obese, and in that case.. you'd need to take the space size issue up with GO transit and see if they will make them wider so you can fit better.

The spots at the GO station are narrow we don't all drive Honda Civics.

Yes, the spaces are snug and cozy. But if you take up more than the normal amount of space, look at parking elsewhere in the lot. Or learn to climb in through the window.

You can ask GO to make spaces wider, but with parking at a premium why would you risk losing spaces?

well I would think that an average sized person could manage to get out of either of those cars.

I'm on the right. There was another car on the left earlier. No problem for me getting out. Both of us were good. I came home to this. I had to be close to yellow as I gave room for my passenger side car to get out. I should have taken a pic of the other side of High Ho Silver. He/She had mega amounts of room a shopping cart 1/2 worth of space other side. I got in my car after undoing what my chiropractor fixed in the morning. But my trunk was empty if I had to...;)
