And the Crazy Train pyromaniacs rub their hands together in glee: Commuters set trains on fire after morning delays

In Argentina.

From The Toronto Star:

Tempers can flare when your morning commute turns into a delay induced sit-in.

But while many of us tear up our tickets, tweet our frustrations and glare at the teenager blaring his iPod who keeps kicking the door, a group of Argentinean travellers went a few steps further when they decided to burn down their train.

The rail roasting was ignited on Monday, during the morning rush hour commute that brings workers from the suburbs into Buenos Aires. But, instead of being glided into the city, passengers were left stranded for 30 minutes after a train derailment.

That’s when the rage set in and eight carriages at three commuter stations went up in flames, with violence quickly spreading from the Haedo stop to the nearby stations of Ramos Mejia and Cuidadela.

Honestly, sometimes I worry about things like this happening to my train. Not exactly like this (holy anger management), but, I mean, we're riding with how many other passengers every single day? And this blog will attest to the number of crazies out there. All it takes is one to go too far...

Now you know why the axe and sledgehammer and saw so easily accessible on every coach scares me.

I'm more worried about this happening on the TTC streetcars. WAY higher ratio of crazy.

I managed to somehow lose my monthly pass this morning. Of course, just at the start of the month, too. It couldn't happen near the end of the month.

I'm too Canadian to do more than act like a grump for a while, but if someone else had started something, I might have joined in the expression of frustrated rage.

I don't think the axe is an issue, it's not very efficient, and it's not like you can't bring your own weapons on the train already. And that is a bigger reality to me.

There was an incident a year or two back where a pyro torched the inside of a TTC bus, the security footage was all over the internet.
