I've got squatters!

A black kitten and his mama showed up in our backyard Friday and quickly discovered the heater of our portable hot tub. They also discovered that our deck provides shelter, the birds provide food and the grass makes a nice snack. They both bolt if you approach them but meow for attention. Jerks.

WHY MOVE ON, RIGHT?

Kitties!

And black ones too! They are so evil it is wonderful.

But I have a soft spot for the evil wonders.

You can provide them with shelter for the winter and/or get someone who does TNR to help you catch them. Kitten is young enough to be socialized and made adoptable. Are you feeding them?

The black kitten looks exactly like my much-lamented Kirby (whom I raised from the age of about 6 weeks to almost 20 years)....so cute!

Your house looks very posh. Are you rich?

No. We are not feeding them but we think a neighbour is. We can't trap them. We've got a call in with a rescue and animal shelter. We think last week's rain storm forced them out of a barn as we are surrounded by farm land.

Define rich? When the bank no longer owns our home, I'll reconsider the term. But thank you.

Yay I'm rich!

If you own your home outright you are most definitely rich.

What cute visitors! I hope they can be adopted. A friend of mine had a feral cat give birth to kittens in her garage. Once the kittens were old enough they adopted out all but one and kept him and the mama. Both are now excellent pets and family members :)

Haven't had a mortgage payment in 9 years now.

That's what happens when you live in the same house for 23 years :) and got in before the real estate explosion.

If they stick around maybe they are looking for jobs as cattorneys ;)

But I can get you a winter cat shelter and help trap them with a humane trap, the kind they use for TNR. (and get momma spayed before she has more babies).

I can only presume animal control came through...

Just what the world needs - more Cattorneys!
