After the year I've had, I am thinking the same. There are so many vile and mean people out there. I don't fault the Star for making this decision

I am one who welcomes the commenting on This Crazy Train and on my local newspaper's website. It does discourage me that their are so many bigoted, hate-filled trolls on the internet, but occasionally there are pearls of wisdom or at least some good humour.

I have no problem signing my real name on comments, but I'm of a "certain age" that just doesn't "get" social media. A read of Facebook's privacy policy made me decide to delete my account and vow never to use anything with Zuckerburg's name on it again. So please, keep the comments.

I for one am glad The Start disabled commenting. More and more I was reading them disgusted at the bigoted and hateful comments, Facebook is becoming the same way but worse because these people sharing their sometimes vile opinions are your friends. Disappointed in humanity lately.
