Siri's cousin, Ava. I will miss the humour of the human CSAs but they are still there to help and make the odd announcement.
I'm going to miss the goofy antics of the CSAs, but on the other hand it must be horribly boring to keep making the same announcements all day long so I'm guessing this is a welcome change for them.
We have had a great CSA (Ian) on the 5:37 am from Oshawa to Union - he managed to make the announcements very entertaining and his lovely British accent doesn't hurt either. Automated voices just aren't the same...
@Nora 1968: I'm on that train! I like Ian too. Love his humour about winning the lottery.
the automated voice only does a fraction of the announcements and doesn't seem to work all the time. it only announces when you are arriving at the stop, not what the next stop is, when the doors are closing, or the usual announcement when leaving union. the CSA still does all that. pretty useless really...
5.37am train? When do you sleep...?
@Bicky: I know, right? My favourite is when Ian casually comments on the "never-ending construction" at Guildwood - makes you feel like it's not just us who are amazed at how long this stuff takes...or "another day of fun & laughter". Not sure I completely understand the logic, since the CSAs are still actually on the train (and making other non-standard announcements)....@Bob Loblaw: Very little, unfortunately :-(
My csa this morning had to make a track change announcement. He tried valiantly to sound like the automated voice. No luck either. But the voice is going to take some getting used to.
I would like to know when the Ava bubble burst. I named my daughter Ava..who is now 13. And now the automated CDR is called Ava..what the heck !!I would also like to add that we have CSR Ryan on our Barrie train...and he is a riot. "You people in the parking lot should be running!" Lol...AND "Seats are for bums...not bags!"
