What do people do when they can't afford storage fees and bylaws prevent them from parking an RV in their subdivision? Why they park it at Ajax GO Station

This was reported to Transit Safety and Security this morning.

TOW IT AWAY. TOW IT AWAY. TOW IT AWAY. TOW IT AWAY.

Jerks.

I have to ask, what do the GO Transit employees at the stations do after the morning rush? How do any of them not notice a huge Winnebago taking up four spots and do absolutely nothing about it??? I also called this in to the parking enforcement number and no one had been told yet about this. Why should GO customers always be the ones doing all the work? Same with the stuff going on at Bloor and Burlington stations. I follow CJ on Twitter. Who's in charge here for the mess at these stations and why is it passengers doing all the due diligence. Get off your asses and help us out.

I'm not defending anyone but I think the job of a station attendant isn't parking enforcement or construction status follow up. I'm sure employees are equally frustrated.

Someone is accountable and they sit much higher up the food chain... and get paid a hell of a lot more.

Knowing the Ajax station intimately, there is no way for the attendants to actually see this situation.

This is parked in the south lot. A lot under construction, where they haven't finished installing the lights (until late last week there were the temporary lights run off a generator). I doubt the cameras are back up yet (if there are even any).

The Station is close to a km away - down some steps, through a mini-parking lot, across a road, the bus turnaround, etc. So, unless someone is going to schlep all the way there for a look-see at random times during the day any driver can do this.

Besides, it isn't uncommon to see similar sights on the weekend.

I called it in around 8:30 this morning, if you called after that they had no reason to say none had reported yet.

I'm not so bothered by this as much as I am the person who parked and then got picked up by someone else to go somewhere else. benefit of the doubt could be given that they are coming back after going to get a coffee perhaps, but I doubt it. considering the picker upper cut me off this morning exiting Mcdonalds, I'll venture to guess he already got his coffee.

if this area is under construction it could be one of the construction workers from out of town perhaps trying to save on hotel costs?

I have to agree with first Anonymous. The Burlington station is disgusting sometimes, the walkway with spills etc. Surely an employee must have to pass it and sees it yet coffee spills remain for weeks. Same with doors locked. It seems there's no responsibility taken.

Alrighty. I passed this on my way home this evening. As of 6:15pm not only was it there, but it had it's slides out!

At first, from the photo, I thought it was at the back of the parking lot, furthest from the walkway. Nope. Right at the front. Inconveniencing at least 4 other cars, as no one can park near it.

My local Wal-Mart parking lot has about 4 of these bad boys in there. ones been there over a week with a satellite dish! Can't afford to park it anywhere else but at least we got satellite television!

A quick Google Map search shows a short 10 minute drive away from the Ajax GO Station is a Wal-mart parking lot:

why not?, it's not like GO ever tow vehicles and certainly wouldn't dare touch a Winnebago.
