In case you missed it ...

GO to add almost 50 per cent more trains in next 5 years

BARRIE — GO Transit will add about 700 train trips a week — most in the off-peak hours and on weekends — within five years as the regional transit agency works toward its $13.5 billion “transformational” 10-year regional express rail plan.

GO currently offers about 1,500 trips a week on its regional rails.

If you crunch the numbers on it, then the next five years will bring half-hourly service on the Kitchener, Barrie, and Stouffville lines; no all-day service on the Milton and Richmond Hill lines; and no major service increase on the Lakeshore lines.

Further, the GO upgrades will consume about $13bn out of the $15bn promised for GTHA transit over the next ten years....
