I used to see the same gentleman riding my train carrying one of these. The reasoning is that he was partially sighted, so the actual buttons were better for him.

Could be a similar situation here.

Yup, if it's a choice thing, I kind of admire his resistance in purchasing the same music/ebook catalogue for a new format for the 2nd/3rd/4th time.
I don't miss them skipping when I was walking somewhere though!

I still have a home stereo system.
Play BOTH DVDs and CD-Rs on DVD player into 1973 Marantz 2230 receiver.
Never owned or used any MP3s.

All audio books from Toronto public library (and most public libraries) are Cd's, also the player for cnib books is ridiculous expensive & is not affordable to many.
