This was the TTC this morning after smoke shut down a portion of the subway

Meanwhile in council chambers, the Mayor and city councillors that we have elected to office, continue that 20 year conversation while drinking coffee and water.

"so what should we do about transit?"

This honestly makes me so angry. Toronto really deserved better than this. But oh well, keep building condos, keep your transit system exactly the same, give the citizens a good line to get elected, and then once elected sit on your hands and give us the appearance that you're doing something.

What bullshit.

I am starting to see the logic in moving out of the city and the longer commute.

This is pathetic. When the PAN-AM games come...I will be nowhere near this city. It will be a sheer and utter disaster of embarassing proportions.

@ Valentino

As sad as this sounds: my commute shortened by a good 30 mins when I moved out of the city.

Where I lived in Toronto would take me 1.5 hours from door to door - on a day without interruptions.

Now, depending on which train/bus connections, I am under an hour door to door.

Squiggles, I live in Barrie, work downtown Toronto, and my commute is only 20 minutes longer than some of my coworkers who live in the city in the morning, and the same timing in the afternoon.

I was floored when they told me they were spending nearly 1.5 hours to get home on the TTC.

Gee, do these passengers have a clue, that if the Yonge section is offline, then use the university-spadina section. It just takes a small detour and some thinking to make it happen.

That is just nuts!

Though I will admit, as much as the GO Train sucks some days, it is light years ahead of the cattle car of a subway.

Smoke in the subway again? NYC, DC, now Toronto. A strange pattern: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=us&tbm=nws&authuser=0&q=smoke+in+subway&oq=smoke+in+subway&gs_l=news-cc.3..43j43i53.1601.4463.0.4714.15.9.0.6.6.0.125.1005.0j9.9.0...0.0...1ac.1.LuSkW9pd-eU
