"Please exit the train immediately"

What the hell does that mean?

In all my years riding the luxury transit system known as GO Transit, I've never heard a CSA ask passengers to exit the train immediately, but that's the announcement that was made this morning when the 7:15 OSH-UNST train rolled in to Platform 1. It was all kinds of rude. We're not cattle.

What does the CSA think we're doing? We're exiting. We're exiting at a pace that a single aisle and two set of stairs for 200 people will allow.

You can't rush off a GO train, not unless you climb over people or stand near the doors in anticipation of them opening so you can launch yourself onto the platform. The door donkeys are the only people who leave any train immediately.

What I hate are those of you who climb over me to stand in a line that isn't moving, or stand right in front of where I am sitting so your bag is in my face or worse, your ass is inches from my nose. Just don't do that. Wait until there's a gap and then get up, or how about you just wait til I get up? M'kay?

I came across that either this morning or middle of last week (the brain is fuzzy after a long weekend).

I thought it was rude as well. But it may do something about those people who linger on the top deck for 5 mins when the aisle is clear.

I've been riding the train for a long time and I've never heard that.

You Lakeshore east riders must be a troublesome crowd...:)

We must be...

There could have been something wrong with the train that it had to be evacuated.

I didn't get that impression at all.

Same message this morning with the addition of train doors will be closing in two minutes. Please leave the train immediately. WTH

Happens every morning on LSW at Union thanks to overcrowded platform and lack of adequate stairs. People are told to exit train as doors are closing but there's no room on platform to exit onto! Only in GOland!

Many times in the morning, trains are out of service at Union. They want people off the train asap so they can head out to the rail yard. Been a long time since I've heard that message as my morning train continues on to Aldershot.

Wait a minute! Why was the CSA saying "please exit the train immediately" for? Was the message for last-minute door blockers or was it an evacuation

Ha I do climb over to stand in the line but to my defense I have to transfer at union from the LSE to LSW and the train is always running late. If I don't get ahead of the crowd getting off I miss my connecting.

Every morning on the LSW that gets into damn platform 27. Exit immediately. Yeah right. Can't even fit on the platform.

My favourite though, there's one CSA that says at Union "this train will be out of service at Burlington and everyone must leave the train immediately upon arrival at Burlington". Ok its an hour away, thanks for the notice and making me feel welcome lol

It's likely for another train that's due to arrive on the platform. The Barrie train sits in the corridor all the time waiting for a platform to clear.
