I feel for for my LSW'rs

Here's what they had to deal with while GO repaired the tracks and switches damaged from flooding.

This was from early yesterday as people had to get off at Port Credit and board shuttle buses to Long Branch and then continue on to Union.

Look at those crowds!

Why didn't these people just stay home?
I had a guy show up at my office at 11 am saying it took him 3 hours to get to work. Really? You want a medal. He left at 5 and it took two hours to get home.

So all that to work 6 hours.

Good job, buddy.

To play Devil's Advocate for a moment, not everyone can work from home.

BUT (!!!!) those that could, should have. If only to make life easier for the poor schlubs that had to go in.

And to think, they are calling for more rain this afternoon/evening. Hopefully it will work out well for everyone.

Why not take a summer "snow" day? No one expects you to schlep into work through a blizzard so why is this so different?

I drove to Mimico from Oakville to avoid this. Worked for me. :) I even got to work a little early.

I should've known better. I figured this plan was put into place and they had trains coming in at 20 minute intervals afterwards that they would be organized and have enough busses to address capacity.

I ultimately got to Port Credit, waited awhile but got on the train back home.

Now for folks asking why we didn't just take a 'snow' day or stay home. It can be hard to justify not making the attempt when other members of your team managed to make it in. Especially when those people lived in harder hit areas than you. It can reflect badly on you.

And that is not even taking into account people who do not get paid if they do not show up.

That's true, Mark.
My bad.
