There is so much NO in this picture

And the artwork is ugly. Even the PBS Painter dude would hurl. The only "happy accident" about that canvas is that it's not hanging in a gallery saving thousands of people wasting any brain power having to look at it. It looks like a forest apocalypse with goldfish swimming in the sky.

Do you critique your daughter's artwork this way?
Pretty mean, don't you think?

C.J. Smith said...

Um... Nope.

My daughter had nothing to do with this painting. If she did, it would have a dinosaur instead of a lone, sickly-looking tree and the whole painting would then make a lot of sense.

You can talk smack about the feet but's it wasn't necessary to poke fun at the artwork.

C.J. Smith said...

She had her artwork out in the open therefore it's open for criticism.

But the problem wasn't the artwork. Bare feet, okay, gross but it's crossing the line to poke fun at someone's art. What if she's learning?

If she's paying, she should ask for a refund.

Wow. You're just not getting my point, are you? And you're a mother.

Squiggles said...

Not a mother, but that picture, if it qualifies as "art" is tacky. And Ugly. I certainly hope someone didn't pay for it.

If my daughter is failing at something, say art, literature, math, gym, science, etc. I'm not doing her any favours by patting her on the head and telling her she's doing great so I don't hurt her feelings and so she's spared from feelings of embarrassment, disappointment, shame, failure or what not.

I don't like the woman's artwork. It's ugly. Maybe you do. That's awesome but art is open to interpretation. Some people are bad painters no matter how hard they try.

I can't play the piano to save my life, even after years of lessons. I suck. My mom told me I wasn't meant for the concert stage but at least I gave it a go. My music teacher was honest. She told me to focus on writing and not worry about music. Yet, I can drum the shit out of anything - go figure.

I'm done with this. You can go ahead and think I'm a bad mother. That's all right with me.

It doesn't matter wether I like the painting or not. My point is the photo was about the feet. You should have just left at that but then you attacked the art and that was low.

Did the "art" buy a ticket? No? Then it should have been in her lap.

Shut anonymous troll. You don't like what the owner of this blog has to say, don't read it.

So you're all going to gang up on me because I disagreed with C.J. Smith? If that's the case, then it does nothing for building an audience, does it? I'm out.

C.J. Smith said...

Thanks for stopping by. You owe me $2 for the coffee.

Bicky said...

Are people assuming she painted the picture? What if she bought it? Gads, there's $37.50 she won't get back, but... to each their own and kim is right. The picture should not have its own seat.

By the way, I don't like the picture either.

I can smell it from here.

Unrelated but do you think people go #2 on GO Trains? You should take a poll.

When ya gotta go....ya gotta go!

Regardless if the art work is a piece of crap or not - it's on the seat. It didn't pay for the seat. She's taking up two or three out of four seats in the "quad". This results in the art work being awful. If it was amazing, big foot lady would be holding on to.

I've done it.

Is she wearing leggings. I would tickle her.

I wonder if anon is protesting so much because they are the artist in the picture!
