Assholes. They drive with us. They park with us. They ride with us. They damage our cars ...We threaten to damage their cars ...

Paul parks at the Whitby GO Station.
Paul enjoyed parking at the Whitby GO Station.
One day, the gates of Hell were opened via a portal known as the "parking garage".

Paul writes:
I pay for a monthly parking spot at the Whtiby GO. Prior to being moved (no choice) into the three-level death trap GO constructed, it was a fairly peaceful affair. However; since being moved into the parking garage my car has been hit twice. The latest (yesterday) will require some significant cash to fix. (See pics).

My advice to those GO riders that have monthly parking where a garage has been proposed, or is being constructed, do not allow them to move your spot into the garage. It ups your risk and your stress level immensely. Drivers routinely slalom diagonally through the garage at 30-40K. Pedestrians are constantly running for their lives, as these neanderthal monkeys in heat take the shortest distance between two points to navigate to their desired parking spot. Remember this: Garage = Cage.

I'm sure you'll be surprised, but no note was left on my windshield either time after I was hit. Go figure.

Soon to be cageless (I hope)

Paul;
Your first mistake was driving a BMW anywhere near this lot.
Go for a Pontiac Vibe.
Mine? Not a scratch on it.

A) I want some of those cards!

B) Neanderthal monkeys in heat! priceless! it made my morning.

Anyhoo, I have absolutely no intention of ever parking in the garage once it is built in Ajax. Besides the fact that they are doing NOTHING for the traffic light situation, I would rather take my time, cross the parking lot in relative safety and shovel the car off than deal with the nightmare that may ensue.

Love the business cards, too :)

. . . what's right about it???

Nothing! I own one. It's my GO parking lot car. I drive a BMW X5 normally but after someone backed into it (June 2009) and caused $5000 damage (out of my own pocket with some insurance help). After it was repaired, I went and financed a Vibe just to deal with the GO bullshit. Here's the kicker, it's been 2 years, not a scratch on it.

I'm just kidding Tim, my EX-sister-in-law drives a Vibe, I just always thought it was a funny name for a car.
I like how you called it your "GO parking lot car", I see a ton of those, cars that are 10 yrs plus and you just know the good car is sitting at home safe and sound.

wow i wish i made enough to finance a "go parking lot car".
I can only afford to finance a regular car that I take everywhere with me

@Anon, re: the car. I was thinking that too! I wish I made enough to have another, nice car at home. Instead, its the clunker that takes me from A to B.

I have no children and I'm widowed, so I guess I am in such a financial position. Mostly I bought the Vibe in anger and it was impulsive as the BMW SUV was/is the nicest thing I had/have ever owned. Not that I am materialistic! I'm sorry if I came off as pompous. I realize others aren't in a position to have a beater to drive to the GO

too funny. When i saw this today I printed a bunch of card like that off, but just on little piees of paper and stuck them in my purse. Lo and behold i get to my car today and some asshole is parked right on the line and I can barely squeeze into my car. So I left him one of my lovely notes. and I also pushed his passenger side mirror up and back. Hopefully he wont notice until he's already driving.

Do what I do. Save the reserved parking spot fee (the garage is fast to get in and out of most of the time), park on the top floor against an outside wall and voila! No crazy slalom drivers, nobody scraping paint off your car by running between cars to get to the train and $60 (or is reserved parking more now?) plus repair costs in your pocket each month.

I had more problems in Oshawa than I do now in Whitby using the garage. Plus I like that the garage has cameras everywhere.

Go through insurance. I had some @$$ back into me in the Milton parking lot on a SATURDAY!!! (Milton parking lot is virtually empty on weekends). No note, no nothing. Called my insurance company and it is covered. It won't affect my policy or premium in any way whatsoever. They will likely ask you to file a police report.
