Start planning. Go Transit release Christmas service schedule

You know Rob Ford's gonna cancel this, right? At least your trip to Nathan Phillips Square will be free, courtesy of GO Transit, where you can stand in the dark and reminisce of New Years' past. That mofo is so shutting down the skating rink, too. Mark my words.

From Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, Dec. 8, 2011 /CNW/ - GO Transit is providing passengers with earlier trips home from Union Station on December 23 and 30. GO will operate a special schedule to give GO riders the opportunity to get home earlier leading up to the holidays.

Also, on New Years Eve, GO is helping passengers get home safely. GO service will be free of charge on December 31 after 7 p.m. with the addition of some later trips, making GO an easy and safe choice for the holidays.

A full run-down of GO Transit service during the holidays can be found online at gotransit.com.

I think your links are dead. I can't load any of the Milton line stuff anyway.

Yep, that would be because they're relative links, relative to the GO website if this site was the GO website, which it is not.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't think to check.

I'm not putting in the full path and have removed the links. Since I pull a salary of zero, no dice. Please follow the link to GO's website.

free of charge on new years eve huh?
once again catering to the transit freaks. why don't we get tax free gas during this time?

for the ultimate service that doesn't require waiting, buy a car.

The hell you doin' on this website?

Ba ha ha at you and your 'car is King' analogy. I bet you a gazillion dollars if you left at 7:53 am from the Oshawa GO parking lot in your car at the same time I left on the train, I'd be at Union Station waaaaaaaaaaaay before you.

In fact, why not take me up on it?

You can't do Stevenson Road/401 to Front/Bay in less than an hour between 8 and 9 in the morning on a weekday.

So shut the hell up and surf away.

i don't live in near Oshawa. i'm Keele and Bloor so i win.

So you have absolutely no reason to take the GO train, yet, you somehow figured this was a website for you. Stunning.

I guess he wins internets?

Anyhoodles, the reason why they do free transit is to stop the drunks from driving "home" that night. Kinda like you alluded too.

So they've cancelled most of the regular rush hour LSW express trains and made them express mid afternoon? Why would my boss let the office leave early on Dec 23rd? Nothing special is happening that day. Christmas is Sunday for Lord Baby Jesus sake! Thanks for nothing GO. Looks like I'll be driving that day so I can get home before Christmas day.

You need to print out the train schedule for your employer.

Scrooge for a boss needs to read the schedule more carefully.

GO is running LSW trains on the 23rd all the way up to 12:43 am

The 4:47pm LSW is express to Clarkson

The 5:15pm LSW is express to Oakville

The 5:34pm LSW is express to Clarkson

If you can't make any of these trains, Scrooge for a boss, you need a new boss.

But you'll get home that night.

@Anon - I think the target audience for the later NYE is people old enough to drink not 'transit freaks'. I own a car, but I assure you I'll be in no condition to operate it back from downtown at 1am on New Year's Eve.
