LIKE 20 MINUTES

Text to 647656XXXX
from 9054427423

How was math class for you in school?

Text message from

Fine, why? Isn't this bullshit? Did you get my picture?

Text to 647656XXXX

Hey, thanks for turning off the all caps. Is it the one with the motorcycle? Quickly, what's 127 plus 456?

Text message from
647656XXXX

I don't know... do you see the bike?

Text to 647656XXXX
from 9054427423

Yep.

Text message from
647656XXXX
to 9054427423

Do you see where it's parked?

Text to 647656XXXX
from 9054427423

In a parking spot?

Text message from
647656XXXX
to 9054427423

And that doesn't bother you?

Text to 647656XXXX
from 9054427423

No, it's parked legally.

Text message from
647656XXXX

WHAT? SPOTS ARE FOR CARS!!! BIKE PARKING IS DOWN NEAR THE BUS LOOP.

Text to 647656XXXX

Was this in Oshawa?

Text message from
647656XXXX

Yes.

Text to 647656XXXX

There aren't a lot of motorcycle spots.

Text message from
647656XXXX

Text to 647656XXXX
from 9054427423

Text message from
647656XXXX

I think it is. Anyway, I figure you would be understand as me. This is one bike taking up a whole spot for a car. These people can take the bus. How do they get to the station in winter??? It's bullshit. i should have lit a macth to the cover of that bike?

Text to 647656XXXX
from 9054427423

Text message from
647656XXXX

from 9054427423

You may want to look into that.

Lemme guess, this guy is the same kind of character that argues Smart cars shouldn't be parked in spots for "regular" cars. Uh-huh, right.

It's a motorbike, not little Johnny's Big Wheel, little Sally's scooter or mom's 15-speed mountain bike. Last time I checked, the operator has to follow the HTA just like anyone driving an automobile.

I don't even know how to respond to that. I guess it's true what they say: It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round. Too funny.

A friend of mine drives his motorbike to the Oshawa station in the summer and he was told no parking at the curb and he has to take a spot. He received a written warning advising him of that fact so it is official mototcycles have to park in designated parking spots just like ALL other motorized vechicles!! (that does mean all regardless of size)! hehe

Kudos to the motorbike rider for parking nicely and legally.

"These people can take the bus."
So can many car drivers, but they don't, for all sorts of reasons.

"How do they get to the station in winter???"
I imagine they either use a car or (gasp!) continue to use their motorbike.

Okay, look, I'm not trying to be a jerk but motorcycles are smaller and can be parked at the end of an aisle. Not me, ok?

Sylv said...

Sure, park at the end of an aisle and come back to find your bike on its side after someone clipped it on their way out of the parking lot (it happened to me).

When I used to ride I would look for spots with a bike already in it. If there was room to comfortably share the spot I would. Otherwise I would take a whole spot (gasp!).

I am sure that everyone agrees that bikes should wait in traffic jams like anyone else and not lane-split in order to get through faster, as per the traffic rules. So why should the rules not apply when it inconveniences a car driver?

Al said...

I actually feel thaqt bikes should lane split, It should be completely legal they can fit so why not.

As long as they arent blowing thru that traffic jam at 100 kms. no big deal in my opinion, you can usually hear them before they pass anyway.

I have been to Asia and Southafricc and thatis common practice and legal. If the people in cars are jealous they can get a motorbike.

(Incidentaly, I do not drive a motorbike but do believe that practice should be justified.)

Sylv said...

Al, if it was legal, sure. However, it is not legal and I believe in following the rules :).

th is the author and photographer of the text/photo

I don't see an issue.

Al said...

@ Sylv - Understood but it should be a rule, just like the bank should deposit the half a mill they owe me just because I said so.

@CJ - Maybe TH should arrive at the styation earlier, I see no issue with motorbikes in parking spaces. I do like Sylv's double parking idea though, Would the first motorcyclist be upset about that, seeing as you wouldnt have the chance to ask prior to parking, or did they purposely leave you the room knowing they can fit 2 bikes in one spot??

Who isn't into spooning?!

Al said...

Nuff said I spose,

I will remember that when I am crammed into the go trian car waiting to exit @ ajax and I will nuzzle up closer to the person in front of me as opposed to trying to leave them their personal space

Sylv said...

@ Al: if you get your half a mill deposited, can you give me the name of your branch manager? I may have to move my accounts ;)

I don't understand why they are complaining about this. if it was the winter they would have the car and still occupy that space.
just because you have a car, it doesn't mean you are entitled to everything on the planet.
