Off Topic: Things I've learned so far today

1. I can't hammer a nail straight to save my life.

2. Bread boards make great wall brackets when trying to cover an old phone bracket with a pushpin white board.

3. Hornets will make a nest in your BBQ cover and when you unroll it, they will swarm and sting you.

4. Walk-in clinics will give you an epi-pen shot without you having to wait.

5. Calling your husband hysterical over being stung and getting his voicemail sucks.

The nurse counted 23 "welts". Heightened anxiety and near hysterical-ness can trigger an asthma attack for me so thankfully I live 2 blocks from the walk-in. Plus, I'm allergic. Christ.

That really does suck. Luckily, I've only been stung once in my life and I've never been swarmed.

Getting stung 23 times while alllergic? Man, thankfully you didn't pass out.

Glad you're okay.

I wanted to be on the safe side.
Last time I was stung I was 4 and it warranted an ambulance ride. I totally panicked. I was also concerned my anxiety would trigger an asthma attack.

So wait, I can walk into a clinic and just ask for an epi pen?

Absolutely. They'll give you the shot.

To clarify, when I ran into the clinic, in pure panic, and being in a rural area, there were a few people seated. I mentioned I was asthmatic, had shown previous reaction to stings and I was given an injection of epinephrine from a pen. I was already wheezing, heightened anxiety, etc when I was in the car. I wasn't told to wait for a doctor. I didn't expect it. However, after the injection, I did wait for a doctor just to be assessed.
Where I am along Highway 2 it's a 3 minute drive to this clinic.
Now you're probably googling where I am.
I was on auto pilot. I just ran into my car - for real, left the house unlocked and just bolted.

Glad your OK,
Hope that is the worst of your reno nightmares. (even though it really had nothing to do with Renos)

this all happened on the train?

brad said...

Yeah, it all happened on the train, the train cj said she wasn't on. God, you're stupid.

Al said...

In stupid's defence, CJ never actually said she was or was not on the train today. But it is pretty easy to figure out that she stayed home today.

(Posted anyway, but a prior post does indeed say she wasnt on the train today)

Sorry, you really are Stupid.

The next time I see some outside I'll wack a couple for ya!

Those things are annoying, and it seems like they make their nests everywhere.

Good Lord, CJ! I'm glad you're OK.

I do appreciate how your peeps pounced on the weakest link. Good to know they're loyal.
